We look after all the details for you, on this 9 day – 8 night rail travel package, to enjoy this memorable world renowned Canadian rail journey.  Planned with you in mind this trip begins with your arrival in Toronto, Ontario and a night stay here at our partner hotel located just steps away from the station.  The following morning you will begin the westward rail journey on VIA’s CANADIAN in your assigned sleeping car accommodation (with access to the train's multiple dome cars and lounges and of course all meals in the dinning car) for the next 3 days and nights though the Canadian Provinces including (Northern) Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and in to Alberta.  The package includes a 2 day and night visit to the mountain town, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, of Jasper, Alberta at our partner hotel here located close to the station and featuring memorable mountain views.  After your relaxing visit to Jasper you will board the next westbound train to continue through the Rocky Mountains by daylight followed by an overnight on the train and next day though the British Columbia lower mainland to arrive at the end of the line in Vancouver BC. Then the remainder of the day will be to enjoy attractions here in this cosmopolitan city on Canada's West Coast followed by your included overnight here in Vancouver.  Our detailed info kit, provided to our guests for their travels, includes hotel vouchers, detailed itinerary, travel info of your train and route and more to get the most out of this legendary trip.  

Scheduled to begin on May 1 to Mid October, in addition to the train's multiple dome cars, one of Canada’s premiere rail cars for scenic mountain viewing called a Panoramic Observation Car will be added to each train for the western portion of the journey.  This car will be included on the train between Edmonton to Vancouver, in both directions, and passengers in Sleeping Car Touring Class can have access to this car for unequaled views of the Canadian Rockies and Coastal Mountains in British Columbia’s lower mainland.

WHAT THE TOUR INCLUDES:

DAY 1 - Saturday

Will be your independent arrival into Toronto, Ontario giving you a chance to explore and enjoy this city.  Attractions located close to our partner hotel include the renowned CN Tower. The Hockey Hall of Fame, the shops and boutiques of the St Lawrence Market and more.  Just do not forget you have a train to catch tomorrow morning and you also may want to enjoy some time at our Toronto hotel partner, located just steps away from Toronto's Union Station. Overnight Toronto.  

DAY 2 - Sunday

Today you can head to the station to check in for your journey on VIA’s westbound train The Canadian in your reserved room for your morning departure from Toronto. Once onboard you will be shown the features of your sleeping car space before enjoying a Bon Voyage reception or enjoy the passing views from the dome car. Enjoy views as you travel into the Muskoka Region and into the Sudbury Basin. Lunch and dinner will be enjoyed on the train and overnight onboard as you continue west.

DAY 3 - Monday

Travel through the scenic region of Northwestern Ontario featuring many lakes and rivers with isolated communities and fishing camps.  Enjoy the trains lounge, activity and dome cars and again enjoy the night on the train.   This evening the train arrives at the Province of Manitoba for an extended stop at the journey’s Mid-way point the City of Winnipeg. Here you will have time to visit attractions adjacent to the station including the Forks National Historic Site and Market where the Red & Assiniboine Rivers converge.   As well, the tour info kit we will assemble for you will include a voucher for admission to the volunteer operated Winnipeg Railway Museum located right inside the station.  This large museum features the first steam locomotive on the Canadian Prairies called “The Countess of Dufferin” and numerous other pieces of rail equipment and displays related to the regions rail heritage.  Departing Winnipeg the train travels through western Manitoba and into the Province of Saskatchewan.  Reading along with the route guide we provide for you, with your camera in hand, you will be ready to photograph the Assiniboine and Red Rivers as you depart Winnipeg.  See a grand prairie sunset over dinner before the attendant makes up your bed and you retire to your room for the night.

DAY 4 - Tuesday

This morning you are scheduled to arrive in the City of Saskatoon (which is the largest city in the Province of Saskatchewan). Today will be a travel day past the farms and rolling hills of the Canadian Prairies.  This evening you will arrive in the 4th Province  on your journey and reach Alberta's Provincial Capital - The City of Edmonton to possibly stretch your legs along the platform here.  Also here in Edmonton the PANORAMIC COACH DOME CAR will be added to the train in Edmonton for the passengers in Sleeping Car Touring Class.  Enjoy breakfast and lunch/ and dinner on the train (included) and again overnight in your sleeping car accommodation.

DAY 5 - Wednesday

Awake to the community located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies Jasper, Alberta and introduce yourself to this mountain town and overnight at a hotel steps away from the train station here.  The remainder of the day will be to check in to your hotel as part of the package then to explore and shop the many stores and boutiques here or just sit and enjoy the mountain views in almost any direction. Overnight Jasper.  

DAY 6 - Thursday

You have the opportunity to experience the Rockies from the bottom, Maligne Canyon, to the top, Whistler Mountain with our suggested tour providers that our clients have enjoyed in the past.  The package also includes admission to the “Jasper Wildlife Museum” where you will learn about the many types of wildlife that live in Jasper National Park and the area.  You can also shop the many gift stores and boutiques before returning to your comfortable hotel room for the night here in Jasper.  

DAY 7 - Friday

The following day, after a restful stop of enjoying the scenery and mountain air in Jasper you will board the westbound Canadian to Vancouver and continue to view the Rockies from the train including the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies –Mt Robson and enjoy lunch and dinner in the diner and overnight on the train.  

DAY 8 - Saturday

Awake to have breakfast (included) traveling through the Fraser Valley before arriving Vancouver, to visit this city, and stay downtown at a DELUXE full amenity hotel located close to the train station and other attractions.  

DAY 9 - Sunday

Awake refreshed at the hotel we have arranged for you and either depart for home from the Vancouver Airport (flight cost not included) or reserve another day to view the sites of this great city.
