11 days - 10 nights Canadian Rail Tour Package
Independent departures from Toronto Ontario, Canada starting every Monday
Enjoy the best of the west with a visit to both these places in Western Canada. Begin any Monday to overnight in Toronto (1 night) before travelling west on VIA's CANADIAN ( total of 4 days/nights on the train) with a private bedroom and all meals on the train, to Vancouver, BC. The package features a stay and play at the journeys mid-way point of Winnipeg (2 nights) you can experience the Manitoba Museum, Forks National Historic Site, shopping districts and more. Then re-board the train and continue west and travel through the Rockies in daylight to enjoy the mountain town of Jasper (2 nights) for a couple of days. Then return to the train continuing west to travel to Vancouver (1 night) at Canada's west coast.
NEW FOR 2010 Starting APRIL 23 to late October the train will feature one of Canada's premiere rail cars for scenic mountain viewing called a Panoramic Coach Dome Car. This car will be included on the train between Edmonton to Vancouver, in both directions, and passengers in Sleeping Car Touring Class can have access to this car for unequalled views of the Canadian Rockies and Coastal Mountains in British Columbia's lower mainland.
WHAT THE TOUR INCLUDES:
- DAY 1 - Monday Will be your independent arrival into Toronto, Ontario giving you a chance to explore the city. Spend the night at a 5 star classic railway hotel, located near many attractions and shopping areas and is across the street from the station.
- DAY 2 - Tuesday Today you can enjoy the City of Toronto. Attractions just steps away from your hotel include the world renowned CN Tower, the Hockey Hall of Fame, the shops of the St Lawrence Street Market and more. Or enjoy a cold beer after the Steam Whistle Brewery tour. There are also many restaurants to choose from before you head to the station to board VIA's westbound train The Canadian in your reserved room for your evening departure from Toronto. Once onboard enjoy a Bon Voyage reception before heading to your private room to find the bed prepared for the evening to enjoy the night on the train
- DAY 3 - Wednesday Today you will continue to travel west in the province of Ontario and enjoy breakfast lunch & dinner (included) on the train. Travel through the scenic region of Northern Ontario featuring many lakes and rivers with isolated communities and fishing camps. Enjoy the trains lounge, activity and dome cars and again enjoy the night on the train.
- DAY 4 - Thursday Today you will continue to travel west in the province of Ontario and into the province of Manitoba. Once in Winnipeg you will leave the train and check into the classic Fort Garry Hotel and enjoy the surroundings.
- DAY 5 - Friday Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel this morning (included) followed by a full day in the city in Winnipeg to enjoy local attractions such as the Manitoba Museum, The Forks National Historic Site, Provincial Legislature and more.
- DAY 6 - Saturday Again enjoy a full breakfast (included) at the hotel and another day in Winnipeg to possibly pamper ones self at the hotel's spa called "Ten" and visit the Winnipeg Railway Museum (Museum admission included) before boarding the westbound train to continue the trip.
- DAY 7 - Sunday Awake to the Provincial Capital of Alberta The City of Edmonton. PANORAMIC COACH DOME CAR will be added to the train for the passengers in Sleeping Car Touring Class. Enjoy breakfast and lunch on the train (included) and travel through the Canadian Rockies by daylight to arrive in Jasper, AB, to depart the train, and introduce yourself to this mountain town and overnight at a hotel steps away from the train station here in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.
- DAY 8 - Monday You have the opportunity to experience the Rockies from the bottom, Maligne Canyon, to the top, Whistler Mtn with our suggested tour providers that our clients have enjoyed in the past and again overnight here.
- DAY 9 - Tuesday The following day, after shopping the stores and boutiques along Connaught Avenue you will board the westbound Canadian to Vancouver and view the Rockies and enjoy dinner in the diner and overnight on the train.
- DAY 10 - Wednesday Awake to have breakfast (included) before arriving Vancouver, to visit this city, and stay downtown at a classic railway hotel.
- DAY 11 - Thursday Awake refreshed to depart for home from the Vancouver International Airport (flight cost not included) or reserve another day to view the sites of this great city.
